Sewer System Management Plan and Audit
On May 2, 2006, the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) enacted Order No. 2006-003 (see Appendix A) entitled, “Statewide General Waste Discharge Requirements for Sanitary Sewer Systems (WDR). The WDR requires any public agency that owns or operates a sanitary sewer system more than one mile in length that conveys treated or partially treated wastewater to a Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) in the State of California, to comply with the requirements of the WDR in order to reduce the number of Sewer System Overflows (SSOs).
